Is this self-released by the band or are you putting this out on Stormspell?

I presume if it is going to be released soon that the songs have been recorded already. Any list of what songs they covered?

It is self-released. I'm only helping the band to spread the word.

I only have heard the following songs:

KISS - Detroit Rock City
ANTHRAX - Mad House
IRON MAIDEN - Hallowed Be Thy Name

All three sound great. I was really impressed with the Maiden cover in particular.

Is there some greater purpose behind this release? No bother of mine but putting out ultra-typical covers seems a bit... pointless on the whole?

They knew you will not approve, so they did it to piss you off

Seriously, Slander are trying to raise money for their next album. I warned them cover compilations are not the best sellers, but Andy liked the idea and wanted to do it, so they did it.

Look at it as a fan-club release. The songs were suggested by fans subscribed to their FB page, it is known all proceedings will go into recording the next album, so there is hope people will support it. I guess this is as good enough reason as any.

I did figure it might be about raising some money, well, a good reason :)

I got the CD today and would say that they did a good job. The covers are more than just well done and it's an enjoyable listening. The production is rough and the covers well chosen. Just my impression. There are a plenty more ways to waste money but in this case I do not feel I wasted it.

HMM.

I really don't know. You are not the only one who has lost contact with the band...
