It's kind of old an still news at the same time, but you should definitely give LONEWOLF a listen.

They just released their 3rd album, and they play a very good heavy metal with RUNNING WILD hints. Ask any Greek on this forum, I'm sure he loves this band, which says a lot! haha!

Yep Lonewolf is very good, especially holy evil ep...
The second demo is worth a listen too imo.
How does this new album sound compared to made in hell?

From what I heard it is a bit more melodic, but it is also very staright forward and massive. All in all it seems to be a good mix between the melody of their early records and the dynamic of "made in hell". I suppose this might be one of their finest releases so far.

Opinions about this one?:

DEFI - s/t (1981, sirano)

More hard rock than heavy I guess but is it good?

Never heard of this band. Ask shreut, maybe he knows ...
Released 1981, it's surely a hard-rock band, heavy-metal bands were rare in France in 1981.

Sortilege last release

Post by Mitch »

Does anyone have an opinion on "Hero's Tears" by Sortilege (either the French or English versions)?
I am a huge fan of the EP and Metamorphose but never had the opportunity to hear their last release.

If you like the EP and the first album, then there is nothing not to like about the second full-length.

"Larmes de Héros" is my personal favorite from them...and maybe the best french heavy metal album ever created imo. And if you have the opportunity, take the french version of course

I'm going to get this lp in the next few weeks...so I'll let you know if it's worth a listen or not...pretty obscure one for sure...

Yeah, agree. The French version of this album is a diamond; true spirit in the music; just awesome.
