Looks like the new band playing the old songs is going to be equally awful:

The guy's voice has nothing...no passion, no range, no personality. And the mid-section of Nightstalker is unbelievable - no swing, no energy - awful rhythm section.

The dubbing/synching is also atrocious. Not even in the worst z-grade italian films of the 70s was that bad.
To sum it up Cloven Hoof after their reunion:
a) have given many killer shows with Russ North on vox
b) have released a below average album
c) have made a decent rerecording of some of their classic tunes
d) have released a dubbed DVD-R of poor quality
e) have rereleased Dominator in a CD-R of poorest quality
f) have put out a hilarious comic
g) have recorded a new song which is perhaps the most horrible thing any classic NWOBHM band has ever done
Wondering what's the next move of Lee Payne.

The most disappointing thing is that Russ North has seemingly been in the band 90 percent of the time during the last what eight years but almost no music has come of it. He's been temporarily out as soon as an album has come out and then returned immediately to starr in a comic book or something just in time to bugger off once a recording is looming again.ION BRITTON wrote:To sum it up Cloven Hoof after their reunion:
I quite like most of the material on Eye of the Sun. The Russ North reworkings of "Kiss of Evil" and "Inquisitor" on the rerecordings album are incredible. If the whole Eye of the Sun album had been like that it would have been a classic. Such a shame these versions are all we got, except those unforgettable live shows of course.
