CLOVEN HOOF (UK)
http://www.myspace.com/clovenhoofofficial

Seek not to envoke demonic entities beyond the living unseen forces mankind can never hope to understand. In satanic pact a soul giving, unto hell, when time relents to death´s command.

Cloven Hoof is a Heavy Metal band from Wolverhampton that was active from 1979 to 1990, and again from around 2000 onwards. The band were associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement, alongside bands such as Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Saxon and Diamond Head. Enduring many line-up changes through their career, only founding bassist Lee Payne has existed as an ever-present member. Payne, who recorded "Eye of the Sun" with help from Andy Shortland, Lynch Radinsky and Matt Moreton reformed the band. Former members Russ North and Jon Brown along with Roy Chudobskyi were all announced to have joined or rejoined after the album was released, but it ended up with only North coming back. Eventually new guitarists Mick Powell and Ben Read were added with drummer Simon Heywood. However, Brown has later rejoined after all with no explanation as to what happened to Heywood. Mick Powell left the band for reasons unknown in 2007. He rejoined in April 2008, but had left again by October that year. He rejoined yet again in October of 2009, when his replacement Christian Horton and Russ North both left. Now the band will return to with new singer and play its first gig ever in Finland on first day of Metal Warning. Rumours says that Russ North has promised to join the band again for some gigs in 2010! Do not miss this!!! It may be the last chance!

THE LAMP OF THOTH (UK)
http://www.myspace.com/thelampofthoth

The band it self calls their music as ”last of the Summer Wine, meets Conan the Barbarian, meets the x-files at a Victorian Tea-Party! To put it in one sentence The Lamp of Thoth plays some Heavy fucking ΔΟΟΜ ΜΕΤΑΛ! Yorkshires heaviest militant trio The Lamp Of Thoth are the perfect antidote to the sickly commercial dross being peddled in the name of doom. Horrifying, creepy, and seriously unbalanced, Dr. Simon Von Strange and his assistants, Igor Reaper and Baroness Pentangle will raise the spirits of dread eldritch horrors yet again!

Non commercial Cult label, Miskatonic Foundation have released almost the entire back catalogue of TLOT, including ”I love the Lamp” EP, ”Cauldron of Witchery” EP, ”Portents, Omens & Dooms II” and Porrtents, Omens, Doom” CD + Sing As You Slay” EP and ”An oath Sworn on Ashlar Stone” 7”EP . Besides this band also released ”Doom-Plague-Death” 7”EP in 2009 for Metal Supremacy Rec. This band is heavier than thou, they are here to slay!

HEATHEN HOOF (Fin)
http://www.heathenhoof.cjb.net/

Heathen Hoof was formed in Äänekoski, 2002 by Ari Honkonen. Ari was already playing guitar in his other bands Morningstar and Minotauri, but he wanted to play with another guitar player for a change and so Heathen Hoof was born! After sad news of Morningstar and Minotauri split-ups, there was finally a good one: Heathen Hoof is still on the loose!

The band played their first shows and in late 2004 an american label Nuclear War Now! Prod. offered a recording deal. The band went to studio in the beginning of 2005 to record 4 songs for the 12" Mlp/ep titled "The Occult Sessions". It was released in summer 2005. The band is just about to record their first full length LP for Metal Warning in 2010!!! The LP will only feature new (unreleased) songs by the band. Nowadays best NWOBHM will be heard in Finland soon!

I'm a pariah, I'm running wild, I'll fight the world
Metal is my guide...
I'm playing rock, hard Heavy rock, that's what I like
I have no job...

I'm a witchfinder, I'm a night hunter
I'm fighting for the right to choose...
And that's the way it's gotta be...

Heathen hoof is on the loose
Hear the sound of Metal hooves
The odds are against us
But still we'll fight for the right

CHILDREN OF DOOM (Fra)
http://www.myspace.com/childrenofdoom62

Children Of Doom was born in August 2008 by 3 buddies united by the passion of Metal. B.B.F (Lord, ex Nürn) guitar Vincent Mc Doom (Mass Grave) Drums Reinheitsgebot (ex Nürn) Bass The band plays Doom'n'Raw Metal inflenced by Saint Vitus, Black Sabbath, Burning Witch, Motörhead... Capricorn Records recording artist.

SAMMOHAN (Fin)
http://www.myspace.com/sammohan

An Occult Heavy Metal band from Äänekoski, Finland with a raw sound can be described as “Sabbat/Metalucifer of Finland”. This is indeed is very special concert as it will be the first band will ever do!

"...I'm the master of this war plan and I rule this land with my iron hand. Now listen, I came from the northern land called Suomi, the land of the crazy men.
I'm a warrior, I'm a crazy Finn. I'll burn your land.
Together we ride across the middle Europe.
This isn't my fight but who cares... let's march on!
Hakkaa päälle!" (Morningstar - Hakkapeliitta)

GOBRA (Fin)
http://www.myspace.com/gobraband

The story begun as band called MEG played a live set including four originals and covers from Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Blue Öyster Cult, Saxon, MSG, Gary Moore, Def Leppard and so on.
The new name was invented short after this first gig: "Flimzy Haze". With this name band made some more gigs and demo's at Haga Waga studio, Kempele.

Record companies were interesrted in their music, but the trend in that time was that you have to sing in finnish, so we made our first single with the bands own money. Single "the Tryout/Paid To Kill" was released and the name of the band was changed to GOBRA, because Flimsy Haze was too difficult to gig arrangers and was always misspelled in advertisements and by media. Flimsy Haze remained later as band's record company label with the false teeth -logo. After success of the first record release Gobra made gigs in every part of Finland. After that Gobra released 3 more singles and 3 albums before the Millennium. Between 1983-2010 Gobra also made some 1000 gigs in Finland and now Eternal Finland Tour 1985 will finally reach Helsinki. 4th album "From Dawn To Storm" was finally released in 28.01.2009, 10 years after the previous one. This one shows that there are place for Finlands very own Iron Maiden, who perhaps never broke through with big commercial success, but who have the Metal heart and will to hang it on despite all the struggle.

TORCH (Swe)
http://www.myspace.com/torchmetal

The band was formed 1980 by Chris J. First, Steve Streaker and Claus Wildt. Stefan Wedlund did the vocals but soon Dan Dark joined the band to do the voice. Torch released their debut EP "Fireraiser" in 1982, and shortly after that they toured around Europe and did some festivals with as well as Motörhead as the German heavy metal band Warlock. After nearly twenty years of silence Dan Dark started to plan a couple of reunion shows. Dan contacted the other guys in the band to see if they were up for it but unfortunately it seemed that due to various things Dan was the only guy who had the time and effort, to put the old metal machine rolling again. He had the idea of putting the band together again for a long time and he wouldn't give up the dream of playing the old songs again to the fans. Dan introduces new members in Torch: Guitarists Eric Rauti from Swedish metalband Dreamland, Mr Kennywise from Swedish hardrock/metalband The Citadel, Drummer Magnus "Dynamite" Ulfstedt (former Talisman, Royal Hunt, Eclipse, Mitch Malloy and Sha-Boom etc.) and finally basplayer Jörgen "Poe" Andersson (The Citadel, former Baltimoore and Bloodbound)!

Bringing the light of Lucifer, towards a Torch (burning)!

OVERDRIVE (Swe)
http://www.myspace.com/overdrivesweden

The history of Overdrive dates back in 1980, when out of the two local bands Paradize (recorded one 7") and Ocean (recorded two 7"'s and an album). In 1981 Overdrive recorded their self-financed MLP "Reflexions", that has become quite a collectors-item. The band also recorded the non-LP tracks "Tonight" and "Damnation Angel" for the local compilation "Rockslaget" (SOS 1982). The band was soon contacted by Planet Records and in 1983 they signed a deal. In 1983 the debut "Metal Attack" was released and it made a great impact on the Swedish, and European, metal scene. It was soon followed by "Swords And Axes" in 1984, and album that received top ratings in lots of reviews world wide. In the Spring of 1985 Kenth was replaced by Zoltan Djember (ex- Ocean) and in June the same year the band split. Janne formed Overheat together with singer Pelle, now on bass. They recruited ex- Mercy/High Voltage-drummer Paul Gustavsson and ex- High Voltage-singer Gernot Iversen and recorded some demos. Kenta and Kjell continued with Pride, but also made only demos. Kenta later joined local band E-Type, who appears on a local compilation-CD. Kenth recorded some demos with Area and Interaction. 10 years later In 1995 both Overdrive-albums were re-issued on CD on Rock Treasure. In 1997 the original Overdrive line-up made a re-union gig 12 years after the split, at the Karlshamn Rock Festival. The gig was recorded both on video and tape. This was however a"one night stand". The recording was later released as "Mission Of Destruction - Live" on Crook'd Records. In August 2003 Overdrive again reformed with the original line-up, for a show at the Rockslaget festival. The band did another gig in December and will play the Headbanger's Open Air in Itzehoe, Germany, in July 2004. The band did another gig in December and played the Headbanger's Open Air in Itzehoe, Germany, in July 2004. Unfortunately Pelle now decided he wanted to quit. With not many weeks to go, the band luckily found singer Per Karlsson. Per was at the time frontman of the band Unchained. His voice was perfect for the band! In January 2004 all three Overdrive-releases ("Reflexions", "Metal Attack" and "Swords And Axes" were re-issued on High Vaultage Records). All three releases had extensive booklets with family tree and the complete history of the band. In June 2006 the band was to play Sweden Rock Festival and figured they wanted to have a new release to present. They re-recorded four old songs, with Per's new vocals as icing on the cake, added one previously unreleased song and released the new 5-track MCD "Resurrected" (ltd. ed 500).

The MCD and Sweden Rock show lead to a deal with Finnish label Lion Music and in January 2008 (Japan March) the band's first album in 24 years, was released: "Let The Metal Do The Talking". The album features both new tracks and tracks written between 1983-1986. The reviews however reveal it's not easy spotting the oldie. The album was mixed by Johan Blomström at Studio Sound Palace (Blinded Colony, Calm, Kaptain Sun etc), and he managed to captures the band's 80's feel and repackage it in a new box. In July 2008 the band headlined the Baltic Sea Festival's Thursday show and more shows followed! In 2009 the band kept working on new material, played some shows with Tokyo Blade, Carnival Sun etc. Janne was featured with a 4-page spread in Japan's No 1 metal mag Burrn! 2010 marks the 30 year anniversary for Overdrive. Plans are to get as live-busy as possible. A new album should hit the streets early summer/late spring (hopefully both in vinyl and CD format). The new material is rocking harder than ever!!!

IN SOLITUDE (Swe)
http://www.myspace.com/InSolitudeHeavyMetal

In Solitude was formed in 2002 in the Swedish city of Uppsala. The band has released three different demo tapes, followed by the 7" single "Hidden Dangers" on SMP Records including the two songs "Kathedral" and the classic "Hidden Danger (In the Night)". The single is now sold-out. If you listen to In Solitude's brand of complex, high-class Heavy Metal with high-pitched singing, one band springs to your mind immediately: Mercyful Fate. In Solitude feels proud to be compared with such a legendary act: "Mercyful Fate is a powerful inspiration for us, both musically and lyrically but we take as much inspiration from bands like Aria for instance. We don't limit ourselves in any way ..." After the demo tapes and the 7" single, In Solitude have taken the next logical step in releasing a full-length album. The vinyl version was released by High Roller Records, and the CD via Pure Steel Records. The longer the writing process took, the darker the songs got. In Solitude ended up with a perfect mix of catchy old Heavy Metal and pure hell. True to the word. In Solitude's debut longplayer is a masterpiece of dark, atmospheric metal with strong guitar melodies and memorable choruses. According to their drummer, the band the first concert of In Solitude set their way towards Total darkness, the darkness that they have started to create with Heavy Metal! In Solitude themselves are already regarded as one of the hottest bands coming from Sweden for the last ten years or so. Big but wise words! Fans and press alike are really getting behind the band, as Uno (the drummer) explains: "I know for example that people at Close-up and Sweden Rock magazine really do like our music. Those are the two biggest rock papers in Sweden." Uno himself is a big vinyl collector (buying everything worthwhile from N.W.O.B.H.M. to Italian Doom Metal)! Now it is ultimate chance to see In Solitude live in Finland. Fans of King Diamond, do not miss this!!! This is better than you could ever believe a new band could deliver, 100% guaranteed by Warning of Metal Warning.

RAM (Swe)
http://www.myspace.com/rammetal

Surprisinly RAM will do their first ever concert in Finland only in year 2010! Big fan of Finland, Oscar Carlquist and the band are all really excited about this Finland visit. RAM was created back in '99 by Harry Granroth who wanted to form a real Heavy Metal band, he was sick of the missinterpretation of metal that ruled the scene back then and had a pile of material that he wanted to bring to life. He soon found Daniel Johansson, a young but experienced and very talented metal guitar player with a traditional metal guitarstyle. The two started working on some of Harry's earlier material and started writing new songs. After a long and tiresome search Harry then found Oscar Carlquist a powerful Heavy Metal vocalist with a mutual hatred for the current metal scene. Oscar quickly became involved in the songwriting process and started writing interesting lyrics. The 5 started to rehearse and write new songs and in 2003 they released their first EP "Sudden Impact" through partly their own label "Black Path Metal Recordings". The EP truly created a sudden impact on the Underground metal scene, the first 1000 copies were sold out in a few mounths. RAM hit the road and played a number of festivals in Europe and went on tour as support for Sebastian Bach. The band was also recognised by German Rock Hard magazine as one of the best newcommers of the year in 2004. RAM kept on playing live through out most of 05 and started working on their full-length debut album "Forced Entry", which was released in late 2005. Forced Entry brought the entire Old School Heavy Metal community to its knees. The album is a pure sonic attack of real and innovative heavy metal. Great reviews followed and the band grew even bigger. In December 05 RAM hit the road with Dark Tranquillity and in Jan 06 they did some Scandinavian shows with Gamma Ray. Playing live is what RAM does best and in 2006/07 the band delivered a devastating metal crusade over Europe. Reaching places such as Greece for the first time and Spain for the second time, the Teutonic hordes went wild as always. In the summer of 2007 bassplayer Leif Larsson was asked to leave the band due to personal differences and Tyrant of the Black Metal ultra cult act Nifelheim answered the call and joined RAM as a session bassplayer. In 2008 the band released "Lightbringer” album. This time they really took the time to explore the true heavy metal sound. The recording of the album took 10 months of nothing but strife for pure Heavy Metal perfection. Now in 2009 RAM has signed a deal with AFM records and are hungrier than ever. The new album lightbringer has so far recived very, very good reviews. The world is once again screaming out for old-school Heavy Metal and RAM are ready to deliver. As one of the pioneers of the “New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal” RAM are a relentless force to be reckoned with in the future! Definitelly recommended to all fans of Judas Priest, Manowar, Iron Maiden, Wolf and Saxon!

ARMOUR (Fin)
http://www.myspace.com/metalarmour

Finnish Armour have acheived great following after hard work and heavy and hard rocking attitude! Debut album "Armour" was released in December 2009 by Primitive Reaction. Only real format of Heavy Metal, vinyl also SOON available!

BLOODY HELL (Fin)
http://www.faceinhell.com/

Eloquent, intellectual, sensitive – not really. It’s, after all, all about metal and enerty. With the charisma of Spianal Tap, boasting of Manowar and the hairline of the Darkness, Bloody Hell is going to come back in town. First big shoes concert, to Boot Factory-area based Bloody Hell will be at 3rd Metal Warning Festival. The current line-up of Bloody Hell is stronger than ever with Governor Hudson as the bands vocalist, Kurt "Laser Commando" von Düsseldorf on drums, Helmut "Steelhammer" McMachine on bass and Dead Nugent on guitars - as he has been throughout the years. Face in Hell!

RIFF RAFF (Fin)
http://www.myspace.com/riffraffmetal

Riff Raff was a Finnish Heavy Metal band, formed in 1979 in Oulu. Bands first release was Gonna Make it Roll/ Jealous Woman single in 1981. The next year band released their another single "Robot Stud" On the first album "No Law 'n Order" Riff Raff were probably closer to pure rock and roll, with a touch of NWOBHM. Major focus was on their live performances. The 2nd album album, entitled "Robot Stud", was released in 1982, manifesting the heavier musical approach, with the vocal duties falling solely to Immu Ilmarinen. The songs on this album are best described as primeval metal songs, with tight, rocking guitar riffs. There were many rocking songs, including the title track "Robot Stud". In 1983 Riff Raff recorded their third effort, "Give the Dead Man Some Water" together with producer T.T. Oksala, releasing it under the Amulet Records banner. The lyrics of the album centered around various absurdities, reinforced by its - then - "shocking" cover art, causing Finnish rockzine SOUNDI to write a review centered only on the cover, without a single word about the music. It was obivious that a cult metal classic had been unleashed.

Immu Ilmarinen left the band and soon Riff Raff faded into Obscurity... but the story is not in its end yet! The band returned in 2009, with some special live concerts and have promised to perform at Metal Warning Festival and will do special set at Finnish Metal Day on 12 of September together with legendary Sarcofagus!

URJA (Fin)
http://www.myspace.com/urjaband

Urja is young Helsinki-based band that was formed in 2007. In the beginning they were called Äkä, but the name was changed to Urja as another band called Äkä was found. Few gigs had been played and in Spring 2009 the band recorded their first demo/EP, called "Siivet Metallin". New drummer, Henkka was choosen to join the band and new material was composed and rehearsed. At last in October-November 2010 the band recorded their 2nd demo, entitled "Kiveen Hakattu". The band is ready to play more gigs in Helsinki area and their biggest concert ever is going to place at Gloria Cultural venue as support for the migthy veterans, Sarcofagus, live at Metal Warning Festivals final day. The idea of brinning young blood to challenge the oldest band in Finnish Metal was too good to be left used.

...And finally, no introduction needed… The legendary First ever Finnish Heavy Rock band (formed in 1977!) will fin(n)ish the unforgettable festival.

"Syvältä kuin pyramidin sokkeloista ja kaikuna katakombeista nousee mystinen jyrinä", esitteli J.Linnanmaa yhteen, jonka musiikki on "raskasta kuin hautapaasi ja tummaa kuin muumion henkäys". "Tämä okulttinen ja aggressiivinen ääni kasvaa infernaalisen voimakkaaksi ja saa tajuttavan muodon. Se on..."

You must have a nice phone! The shots are great.

So, how did it go?? I was talking to my friend Luke briefly yesterday and he mentioned that the attendance for Saturday night wasn't amazing. It's such a pity as the line-up was really killer.

To be honest the attendance was disgraceful considering the line-up. Saturday was the worst - apparently some opted Watain + Repugnant instead. Sunday attendance was pretty decent but not great by any means. If I'm not badly mistaken the Friday attendance was 166. Comparing to that Saturday was worse and Sunday seemingly better. The bands put up great shows anyway.

It sucks hearing about shit attendance, especially when you have a line-up like THAT. The clash with Watain/Repugnant couldn't have helped I guess. There's no way in hell two gigs of that calibre could (or would, for that matter) clash in Ireland. It would just end up with both gigs losing money.

How was "Cloven Hoof" ?? Did Russ blow everyone away with his voice?
