"Collector Porn" - CD (2012)

Post by sovdat »

As I enjoy watching pics of various CDs far more than LPs / tapes, I thought creating a new thread would do some push in this department. Show us your jewels! :)

Good idea, I never see any cds posted in the other thread, its a vinyl and tape fest. Here is some of the rarer gems from my cd collection, all are original pressings, no bootlegs or reissue, well that overkill on reborn classics is a silver pressed boot, but its the exception.

Some are indeed rare (plus can be found only for big bucks because very well known), but some others ... at all =)

Non urgent CD/vinyl inquiries, insane ebay vinyl/CD auctions ... as Dan wrote "Since the Metal-expertise of our members is often divided into vinyl- and CD-areas"

Great photos, slayerhatesusall2! Does that Anesthesia CD come with huge corner cut or not?

Testimonia seems to be very hard to find in Italy, right? Since gioyle was the 2nd highest bidder on my auction (which ended at around $160) and I found this CD on some other want lists from Italy too ...

It's harder to find compared to, say, Insidia or any Contempo/Dracma/Zasko Lab release, but it's not impossible.

Absolutely agree with you. I would make one really good picture from these 5. My choice is: Kublai Khan, Sacrifice, Apocalypse, Onslaught, LWS (first album of course), Morpheus Descends and Chastain. Probably because i still need them hahaha

Yeah it has a huge corner cut, I had another copy that had the same corner cut as well.

The reason is simple, there are just a few really rare private CD's from the 80's or early 90's. The rest is mostly just expensive but people forget that a couple of thousands being made and buy like possessed no matter how absurd the price may appear. Rare and expensive isn't really the same. Compared to certain vinyls pressed in a 300 copies edition or less those 5000 copies edition of certain CD's that some call RARE it sounds like a joke to me.

This exact same concept exists for those buying both formats.

It's called hype.

Some of the harder to find CDs in my collection (Not all are mega rare or worth a lot of money though):

Power Metal

Heavy Metal

Various Metal / Rock

+ one more CD

Besides the Savatage Promo CD there are 6 promos and 2 bootlegs (silver CDs and not replicas) in these pictures, can you ID them all?
Bonus: Can anyone figure out why I included 2 copies of Leviticus - Knights Of Heaven in the second photo?
