Highest valued metal CDs?

Post by sovdat »

I was just reading some old threads like highest valued US / non US lps etc. so here's one for the CDs. Which metal CDs are worth the most? Outside the $2200 Sororicides, $300 Liars, Metallica promos for $500 and other ebay insanities ...

Some I'd name first:

EXODUS - A Lesson in Violence $500+ - never actually released, and all known copies come with punch-hole. Last copy was sold for $555.

XENTRIX - Ghost Busters CD single with original banned cover art. I have never seen it for sale anywhere, lots of collectors don't know that it actually exists and most of those who do have not seen it even on picture ... The only known copy out there is in James Chai's collection (kreator72), and he also said that he's never seen another one for sale anywhere - that's why he refused an $800+ offer several years ago.

METALLICA - Kill 'em All original Roadrunner release, $1000+ or so but I don't know much about it ...

SANCTUM - Believers - several collectors are offering $500+ for it ...

The one 2,2k Sororicide CD was bought by pesten something who always bid insane prices for raries. In the past some went for high prices (though way under 1000$) but the recent, both CDs and LPs, doesnt seem to sell at all I think

How high goes the Crillson CD? Being a 200ex pressing and all
Just curious

It depends on how much one would want to have it, but the normal price should be ~$250.

Currently two Sororicide CDs are on ebay (no $1500 buy-it-now, but normal auctions), so this should bring the price down a bit again.

Two years ago, Magnus - I Was Watching My Death CD was $265.

Wasn't it $255? ;)

I have seen only 1 after that, it was sold as a $150 buy it now ...

There's a lot of CDs that are in $200-$300 range, some can go for some more like 1st Vulture, Usurper, Arbitrater, obviously there were at least two people willing to spend $450+ on original 1st Angel Dust as well :D

Which would be the regular $300+ CDs? (Preferably outside the Maiden / Metallica area)

3 Sororicide CDs are currently on ebay ...

I'm pretty sure that "Kill 'Em All" on the Roadrunner Slimline Series is a bootleg. There's no consistency in those pictures posted.

Who was it on this forum that said they had a copy of Exodus - A Lesson In Violence? Did you ever end up getting a scan of it Sovdat?

Here is some off the top of my head that all fetch high prices as well:

Entropy - Ashen Existence
Apocrypha - The Forgotten Scroll
Anacrusis - Suffering Hour
Angel Dust - To Dust You Will Decay
Axiom - Vicious Circle
Calhourn Conquer - Lost In Oneself
Target - Master Project Genesis
Last Decendants - One Nation Under God
Tyrant - Ruling The World (Original On Scratch)
Maniac - Look Out (Original on Koch)
Razor - Shotgun Justice
Razor - Open Hostility
Razor - Evil Invaders
Quick Change - Circus Of Death

I believe that it was Laurent / Snakepit zine. Yes, I got the scans of Exodus and Xentrix from James, let me know if you need them!

Original Detente and Razor CDs used to cost over $300 before the bootlegs as well, apparently several Detente copies reached even $500 too ...

I remember one guy at thrashmageddon telling that he put Ruler on the Wasteland on gemm for around $550 just for the fun, and he end up selling it to some Brazilian guy at the end :D

Yeah that's me.... I had no time to scan it though....

MORBID ANGEL "domination" slime pack $600+ all were destroyed except a few "saved" copies just like with EXODUS.
