Do you like drawing logos? Help needed!

An ancient idea I had for the site was to have the header of each feature index page designed in the fashion of an old obscure band logo. At the time I couldn’t find anyone to help out, but now I thought I’d give this idea another shot – given that anyone here feels up to it? I’m afraid I can’t offer anything in return other than the credits, the honor & the fun.

Some examples of what kind of a look I’m after:

The "bands" that need this treatment are:
Hellcome!
News
Reviews
Features
Labels
Compilations
Links
Trading

They should preferably have that hand-drawn look to them and all look very different.

I could try. Do you have any specific band logos you'd like each title to mimic? Like what would you want 'Hellcome' to be like?

Would be really cool to see some examples, cheers! :D

No, no need to mimic any known logos precisely. Just anything that captures the feel & design of those examples, i.e. they should look more "private pressing '83" than "Music For Nations '88" if you get what I mean...

I'll give it a shot. I used to do a lot of logos back in the day. Will be in touch soon...

A good, in-focus snapshot from a digital camera could probably work. Give it a try.

i thought hellcome with a gate to hell would be cool but now it's rather an album cover than a logo

Both "Trading" and "Reviews" looks really cool and definitely useable if you can upgrade them some. Thanx!

I like how the N in Trading looks like a tilted SIREN-S :)

These are what I've done so far:

Yeah I went with the Thruster style ;)

And this one I was first going to do for 'reviews', but then I thought to leave it blank, since it's a bit more elaborate, any text could be added, even 'Hellcome' if you like the idea at all...

I was going to add some more stuff to it, but we'll see. I always take copies of drawings after I reach a certain point, that way I can experiment on the copies without worrying about ruining the drawing.

The 'blank' one looks fantastic! I'd really like to use that one for the Hellcome-opening page. I think just pasting the Olde English-font onto that blank space will work fine. I'm gonna start working on it right away..

Trading/Thruster has a great design initself, but I'm thinking these logos should probably not mimic existing ones too much ..and I'd like to see Keir's finished version too.

That picture was taken in the evening by tablelight, personally I like the darker look a LOT more, has an older feel, but if it helps you with a whiter one here's such:

If there's any problems fitting the letters in I can simply draw them in myself.

And hey, all you owe me is a rip of that Cleveland compilation ;)
