The funny thing is that her web site says Erika Records started as a Heavy Metal Label in 1980 and in 81 she purchased here own press.

Strange as I think all of the above releases were 85-86

That is were Azra (Dave Richards) pressed ALL his stuff and I know his story and conection to the pressing plant but not to Erika the Label.

I know these were at least manufactured at Erika Records:
ZZYZX - Running
Rhoads - Into the future

Wasn't there any Znowhite Testpressing or something too?

I really dont kow if it was a REAL label,
It might have just been like MARK records in NY (ShadowFox, Tritium.....)

As tons of stuff were pressed there from 83-88 but not much on Erika.

back of the Mistreater it says "mfg and Released By Erika Records" so they were trying to be a label.

Mike from Stone Vengeance told me the reason there is a test pressing of their demo is that they sent the master to have cassettes made at Erika. Next thing they received the test pressing AND the contract in the mail at the same time. I guess the contract was a joke since the band didn't do it (though they said in hindsight they should have just for the exposure). Oddly the tape was made at Lilac Records in La Verne, CA, not too far from Bellflower, not sure the connection.

The tape might have just been farmed out. That might have been the protocal back then for Erika, They might not have had a tape system.

I know A&R for years would do 45's but never in house. They would farm it out to the cheapest bidder

Knightmare II is on Masque Records MSQ 8704
just manufacured by Erika lika many others
The Picture Disc of it is on Raucus/Azra i think,
as seen on the scans from Strappado

Here you can find 2 singles (not Metal) on Erika too ! ("April B" and "Kool ROck Jay")

I always assumed Azra/Ironworks and the other labels in that area used the same pressing plant (Erika). Azra is known for crazy shaped releases, Erika records did a lot of testpressings, in fact, I think they still do. Is Rainbo Records some how affiliated also? I have many testpressings from them including Cirith Ungol's King of the Dead
