LethylSteel, you have to understand that some of your generalizations come off as pretty annoying and insulting to some people. Also the way you put some things appear as if it were THE TRUTH and not your own opinion. Maybe you don't mean it that way, but that's what I personally get from reading it, usually. Anyway, if you want to expand your theory about how phoney metal collectors are and how rotten ebay and its members are, please open another thread.

LethylSteel wrote: ... and you wonder why Kiki has gone? Read all those personal assaults that someone gets here who does not agree with other opinions and you know the reasons why

This is not a question of if anyone likes me or not (I give a fuck about that, this is internet and not real life, everyone hides behind his PC), there are also other forums with a better communication between members in point of personal attacks. But this is getting pussy-like behaviour. Everyone has a fake bidder when he's selling his stuff at ebay because he doesn't want to give away his crap for 1 E, so there are more cheaters than you might think, they just don't say it but it's obviously. So this cheating has anything to do about a communication between people or what? Sorry ... this is once again jealous typical collectors bullshit. "This idiot has records that I don't have and criticized records that I have and paid big money for." Noone would ever admit that his 100 E record sounds completely shitty, the old story and that's it. I didn't want to join this forum in the beginning because I had my opinion about collectors but then thought to give it a try and well I was proven right once again. The majority of collectors (and I don't say Metal fans - COLLECTORS!) has just a handful of shit in their brains (there are a few who kept their coolness but you can count them on 1 hand) but in the end has no clue and never will have a clue about the whole thing, concentrating on their stupid list-purchases, proud to announce the next 200 E purchase of any average record. I know poor guys that can only listen to MP3's in the internet who know more about Metal than any "collector" because they are interested in Metal, not in 200 special records only. Most collectors just can't stand the truth and feeling superior just because they can afford a 200 E record. And noone is allowed to criticize that record. Because what it sounds like is secondary! Value comes first!
So basically you claim that most collectors have a superiority complex and go around saying "nah nah nah, I have this expensive record and you don't". Yet you constantly taunt collectors, "nah nah nah, I got that expensive record 20 years ago for 3 cents, so I'm 100% Tr00 Steel and you morons paying 50 euros for a copy in 2012 wouldn't know heavy metal if a lead safe got dropped on your foot".
You complain about shill bidding on ebay, yet you announce that you run auction prices up for fun.
Then you start claiming every other record mentioned is 'crap' and acting like your opinion is The Law of The Land.
And then you rail against collectors showing off their 'new toys' when you yourself are always adding pictures of your very large collection.

And yet you don't understand why others think you're acting like a jerk???

The sad part is that you obviously know a lot about metal and have a great collection, and as such you could add a lot to the conversation around here. But mostly you just seem interested in taunting folks. If you would drop your preconceived notion of "most collectors are stupid posers", you might realize that there are some pretty nice people that post here who are both collectors AND fans of the music too.

Some things you seem to forget:
--Not everyone was able to collect this stuff 20-30 years ago when boxes of Mistreaters and Black Holes were laying around unwanted.
--Some people actually do like the 'crap' records you constantly belittle.
--And some collectors do NOT pay a lot of money just to have some trophy item, but instead they like the album so much that they are willing to pay a lot of money so that they can have a copy of 'the real thing' instead of just listening to mp3s or reissues.

Speaking for myself, I have no interest in owning a lot of the high-dollar metal albums. I wouldn't give $50 for a copy of 'From the Fjords' or 'Take the Night' except to trade it for something else. Believe me, I wish I COULD buy the albums I want for 20 euros or less. But it isn't 1998 anymore; I'm not going to get an original Solar Eagle from the OPM mailorder catalog for $100. If I want an original copy of that and I can afford an original copy of that and I do not want to spend the next 10 years hoping that a copy magically appears at a yard sale for 50 cents, what does it matter to you if I pay $1,000 for it? I'm not buying it just so my collection-penis is as big as someone else's collection-penis; I'm buying it 'cause I think it's a really awesome album and I don't want a bootleg copy made in 2011 or a cheap cdr boot.
(PS- I can't afford a $1,000 for a copy of Solar Eagle, but hopefully you see my point).

And yes, some folks were pretty mean to KiKi; a lot of that was before my time here, so I don't know what their problem(s) was with her

Didn't Kiki leave after she was laughed at for asserting the ancient Greeks had mastered space travel?

That, and the argument over the "1 of 100" golden/yellow vinyl Ripper album.

Shit, I almost forgot about that space travel story. Thanks for reminding me.

She seemed like an honest person to me and she had an awesome 80s heavy metal collection, but claiming the Ancient Greeks already ventured into space 2500 years ago and saying that there's actual proof ... That's just waiting to be picked on.

@Khnud:
What was that again with the golden Ripper copies?
But does it slay witches?

Guys, it's not fair or kind talking for someone who's not present. Let Blackstele rest in peace, since this was her choice.
