Some unknown metal gems from Ecuador 80's-90's

Post by demophil »

I found an amazing page on Facebook called "Museo Del Rock Ecuatoriano" (Museum of Ecuadorian Rock") where there are a lot of releases and a lot of band which were totally unknown.

That's what I found:

1) Scalibur - Demo 19xx (formed in 1983, I think it's made in 1988 according to some info I found on other blogs for one song featured on this demo):

2) C.R.Y.: Parainfernalia Demo 1998 (ok, this is not new but at least there is a good photo of the cover, for once);

3) V.A.: La Historia Del Rock Ecuatoriano Nr. 1 Tape 2000 (with unreleased recordings of Abraxas 1983/89, Blaze 1985/89, Tarkus 1988, Krakem 1989, Postmortem 1987, Narcosis 1988/89, Demolicion 1987, CRY 1988). Most of these recordings are totally unreleased and appeared just as promo/single tracks to be aired on local radios

and now some real gem:

4) V.A.: Metal Explosion Compilation Lp 1991 (with unreleased tracks by Skalibur and Demolicion)

5) Right: Fugitivo de la ciudad/Muerte 7" Ep 1985 (one totally unknown heavy metal band):

6) Right: Mala Noche single track 7" Ep 1989 (more pop rock than the 1st' ep):

7) Right: Electra 12" Ep 1989 (even more pop):

8) Right: Right 12" Ep 1990 (last pop outfit):

9) Sak: Hipermeticadictivo 12" Ep 1992 (heavy/thrash)

10) Spectrum: Ven/Religiones en conflicto Ep 1985 (the only Ep known from their 80's period):

11) Spectrum: No me digas que no/Dale tiempo Ep 1987 (unknown until today):

12) Spectrum: Como el viento 12" Ep 1988 (their pop/rock sellout):

13) Trash Beat: Reflexiones por la paz/Vuelve junto a mi 7" Ep 198x (1985? Hard rock/Heavy metal):

14) Zipper: Con quien estaras 7" Ep 1992 (stuff a-la AC/DC with the ex vocalist of Blaze):

15) Zipper: En el asiento de atras 12" Ep 1992 (same as above):

Plus apparentely interesting hard rock stuff like the 3 7" of Barro (good hard rock 1987-1991), 4to Reich (1978), Easy (year unknown), Mozzarella 1st and 2nd Lp 1980/1982 (the 1st Lp is really interesting prog/hard with touches of metal), Taller Ep 1989 (hard rock)

That's how a webpage should be: trying to gather - expecially for small regional scenes - all the informations and good scan + technical details of the history f hard rock. You will discover information and releases that were totally unknown to a wider audience until now.

Something is still missing like the FUTURA "Tu volveras" Ep and the MOULIN ROUGE "La Noche" 7" Ep but I found some 7" and tapes and recordings which were totally unknown

Total support to this initiative !
