The The Next Band EP is quite historical priestish influenced real early Heavy Metal. Wish there would be more songs like "Close encounters" on these expensive old british singles ...

Indeed, could it be the first NWOBHM single ever?

Hm ... hard to say. The Red single was from 1977, but I'm not sure if we can call it "Heavy Metal". Hard Rock something with Heavy Metal influences for sure. There are a few more NWOBHM singles from 78 but none (as far as I remember, or those that I know) with double bass drumming and "that" speed! There's only Judas Priest on "Sin after sin" and "Stained class" who offered similar power and surely had been TNB's main influence. But TNB has for sure some of the very first real speedy Heavy Metal songs before 1980 on vinyl.

some collection fillers at reasonable prices ...

Nö, vinyl has a scuff in the last track but it's not hearable. Unfortunately I like the album ... it's kinda morbid. I really wonder that Warner Bros. (!!!) released it and not any well known METAL label.
I was even searching for a below 20 E copy for quite some time so I won't give it away. :P

How is that Ablonczy Mihaly LP? I love Hungarian HR/HM but my knowledge is pretty limited to the "well-known" bands (Pokolgep, Ossian, P. Box, etc.)

Go for it! Quite listenable melodic Hard Rock/Metal. He just wasn't only a good guitarist, but also vocalist. Saw that he joined Classica in the 90's ...
I didn't even know that this LP exists. Just found it accidently for 3 E ...

It's everything but not crappy. The guitarist is selling rest copies on ebay.
