Printing tapes?

Post by OllieAssault »

Hi folks!
A friend of mine is planning to release a cassette tape with his Death Metal band. Sadly non of us have the time to buy 200 empty cassettes and record the thing over and over again at home, if we want to release it within this century. So I wonder if any of you guys know some printing company that can record and print this for us?

Cheers!

You need to think different, back then when we released our demos you'll receive 2-5 orders per week, so it means you'll have to record the demo order per order, and not 200 tapes the same time.
Recording service costs extra too, mostly the mailorder firms who are selling those neutral tapes do offer recording service as well. Or you just ask at any pressing plant. But it's cheaper if you record the shit yourself.

A home made CDR to burn in 5 min each time would be easier ... but not 'old school' enough right ? :)

The easiest way to spread your bands name is to uplopad the songs on your website or elsewhere at any forum for everyone to download. This way you get the shit and your band name spread the fastest way coz everyone is lurking for free stuff. If you're good, the success will come easy and you'll get your contract. But basically if you're looking to get your band's name spread the fastest and most effective way, let the fukkers download the stuff for free on the first demo. I wished that we could have done that 20 years ago ... alot of work and postage could be saved. In the end you don't earn anything by demo sales ... it's a zero business.

Prowler got an interesting point. Thou this band har been around for about 15 years and are already quite famous in the scene and we wanted to do a "compilation" tape of some of their material just for fun and for their die hard fans. If they were newcommers we would go with the "put it out for free on internet" thing, because that's the best way to do it these days. ;)
