You're insane, it's really nice prog/melodic (hard) rock.

I know, I know. I´ve seen them a few times. And I have a bunch of records. It was good until Storyteller... then it went downhill.

Ok, THAT I can agree with.

My point was basically that it is not AS good as the covers promise.

One of the biggest (positive) surprises of the last few years
If you dig "Traveller" by SLOUGH FEG, this is like the next part (without saying they are limited to this...), just to give you an idea...
Try their previous CD as well, "Into the Primordial"

"The Final Hour" is way better than "Crankin' 21". If you find it, buy it. It's often quite cheap.

Nah, I have all Doomwatch vinyls by now. Just saw the "Crankin' 21" by chance, didn't know they had that one, but as you said it's nothing like the debut 7" or the album. More punkish ...

Not sure if I should tell you HERE that Gypsy is pretty cool austrian Metal (private single from 1982). U8 style Metal like on "The shaber" f.e.
And Furious Lament single, HORRIBLE german HC from 1988! Just horrible! Has grinding parts and rough vocals but in the midpaced parts the guitarist and bassplayer are both playing completely different songs! Not sure if I'll keep it ... it's horrible!

I recently bought Bulgarian band TROTYL "Lunatic" 7" and it was a pleasant suprise! The A-side was high quality hard rock/HM with catchy songwriting, but the B-side was completely different. More like super heavy HM or even Doom Metal. Fantastic in my opinion!

Paid 8€ for a new copy! Plenty for sale at discogs.
Headbanger, Earthdog, Rivet Head, Hell Rat & Metal Maniac!

Agreed, that 7" is a real killer.

Check out the Dr. Doolittle 7" too. A-side is terrible but B-side total Candlemass worship track.
