Both are from the same year.

The only difference is that the Active press is licensed.

What's the Near Infinity sound like and what year is it from?

It's from 1993 (Monolith Records) and in my opinion you can compare them something in the vein of QUEENSRYCHE or AUDITORY IMAGERY...
