It's a great EP.

With my "second rate" phrase i was aiming at their status, not so much the musical quality. I have it too and like it for the raw sound and the extreme vocal style.
Where were you in '79 when the dam began to burst

I like it too but not as much as headstone, adrian, bloody mary or abraxas,as for the comments many thanx,i prefer the story to remain as it is without name verification, how about a crazy story from a chicago fair in 2006?

My memory that the reason Paul was looking for Sacrafice 12" was he was a picture in it from a B-horror film from the 80's, I guess in this movie they are in a room and you can see the cover of the Sacrafice record, he had never heard of it and put it on his wantslist. I might have the story slightly wrong but I think that is the basic idea.

That is how the story went.
But the LN came from me

If I remember correctly you're roughly in the same late 60's/early 70's age group as me ('72!) + a couple of other regs so no need to feel despair.

Ok,i think before the chicagoland story its wiser to relate the d.t story for those who didnt catch up.Back in 1991 there was this new record store in downtown my hometown the owner of which would go abroad-u.s especially-and bring shitloads of used lps every now and then.As you can imagine i used to spend hours in there digging-by the way the matriarch song i am listening right now from a local detroit comp kills-and my search had occasionally paid off as i had found stuff like upper ehellon, lie, demon flight and a hard rock lp i will talk about in another story, whenever that will be.Until at one moment i find a very strange looking record priced for peanuts ofcourse, total diy attitude, the kind of thing you expect to be the rarest lp on earth, and what a surprise i fell in when i heard the music comin from the grooves being a cross between first period savatage and early nwobhm sounds-thats what it sounded like to my ears back then-,brilliant i thought and started looking through lists and asking people around sending letters, but to my surprise-and satisfaction i must admit-noone had ever heard of a record with a name like that.I didnt spread the word about how good it was or details at the time,i tried to find some info but to no avail. Many years passed until i met someone you all respect and as the discussion on rare unknown records flared i tossed the name and he knew absolutely nothing-meaning that practically very few persons if any knew about the existence of this lp.I gave any info i remembered-year,label-and after 5 or 6 years copies were found -and of the 2 12"s they had released which i also had found for $1 in a D.C store years before-and now i believe all of you own a copy.Ahh,i forgot to mention the band was direct touch!Cheers until next time

This horror movie was actually quite funny. It was about two teenage kids which played the Sacrafice vinyl backwards (DJ scratch style rotating the turntable plate backwards by hand) and thus discovered a hidden incantation which brought hell on earth...

Otherwise, the EP is quite mediocre, I concur with previous opinions.

Now the chicagoland fair story which i wrongfully said was from 2006,it is from november 2005,me and my companion in touring the u.s arrive as always early birds in the fair venue, and start digging at once, dont forget that in places like these time is money and by not rushing or by not acting fast you might lose very rare lps-it has happened to me with lps i havent got yet since the day i lost them to someone quicker or luckier-so i tried to spot the most interesting looking stalls, after about 30 minutes had found but a couple of psych lps and some average soul lps on rarity, until i got in front of a stall with a metal section of about 200 lps, there was this guy in front of me digging and i tried to check the lps he was passing by-anthrax,ozzy,def leppard-when to my surprise i saw him pick up the tyrants reign lp,and held it in his arms,i instantly realised bad luck had struck me and waited for him to finish searching, nothing special in the rest of the crate,so i saw him hold a stash of lps the tyrants reign among them and starting checking them-conditions etc-i was pissed and left because there was a risk of losing other records waiting for him,i continued my search, found some great stuff, about 40 lps and on leaving the fair i happened to pass from the tyrants reign stall and said what the hell,i myself didnt look those lps,and started looking,it turned out the guy hadnt finally got the tyrants reign due to bad condition as the seller later told me-something that made him lower the price to $4!!!!!!!!!!!Lucky strike i guess, cheers. There are a lot of stories of how i got rare lps for peanuts but i dont think anyone cares, next i will relate a story about an armed robbery.
