I know very little about this band; is that a reasonable price for this, or is it completely insane? I'm guessing insane, but I know the band has a pretty hardcore following of completists

It's a normal price. A year ago I would have bought it, nowadays I can't afford that price, or any price really...

Not metal, but still sick as hell.
That's cheap for Northern Soul. One 45 was sold for £15K a few years back.

And people claim that CD collecting is ridiculous...

??

OK, I don't understand that, I sold a copy of Metallica - One MCD (cat 23 DP 5438, silver disc, no OBI) for $4.99 ... is the additional bootleg CD worth another $495??

No shit! I don't think there is anything (other than big ticket items like cars, houses, etc.) that I'd blow 3 fucking grand on!

without any doubt, the item is for the additional bootleg CD, not for the ONE MCD :D
the Metallica bootleg CD is the most highly wanted item among Metallica bootleg collectors. some guys used to say the bootleg CD deserves $1000 or so.
and if i am correct, the seller have sold the bootleg CD before, but was removed by ebay when the auction's last day. i don't know how much the bid is when it was removed. but i remember it was already over $500 when first 2 days from auction's start. i guess the seller worried about that his account is suspended again by the bootleg sale.
