Personally i like the Ashbury "Endless Skies" album because it reminds me of a lot of the old Southern Rock stuff i love, such as The Outlaws and Henry Paul Band.
Frankly, I couldn't give a fuck what's considered "cool" in underground metal circles, or anywhere else for that matter.
I actually see a lot of parrallels between the Metal & Southern scenes of yore; a predominantly working class audience, extended guitar soloing, soulful singers, epic/historic lyrical themes etc etc
I get your point about the double standard concerning the praise heaped on Ashbury, and the vitriol sometimes aimed at Blackie Lawless's band though.
It seems a little hypocritical to me too.
(Sipping a nice cup of tea - probably not considered "cool" in underground metal circles
)

I see Full Moon (US) mentioned here, what about the other Full Moon from UK? The s/t LP 1989 is a great piece of almost-metal Epic Prog Rock...

Thanks a lot! Just recently I talked to a friend about this comp you made (telepathic powers involved?), but I couldn't find it anymore. I was also in doubt if it was one of Fenriz's many compilations or not. Solved now!

Can't stop listening to that JIM PACHECO's song. Definitely my kind of stuff.

The album is recommended, very nice US hard rock with prog influences, with a bit of southern rock and AOR too

I like, how the mix hard rock with southern rock and even prog, and make it sound natural. (Mask Of Unreality)

Can anyone explain to me what the appeal of this band is?
"Endless Skies" has a lot more in common with 70's rock bands then anything metallic of the 80's.
