Classic Albums You Initially Dismissed

Post by nightsblood »

Two for me were 'Rage for Oder' and 'Warning'. I had heard Queensryche's EP, 'Operation Mindcrime', and 'Empire' and liked them all to varying degrees (that's code for the EP is great, Mindcrime is cool, and Empire is boring). For some reason, however, went I finally got RfO and Warning, I didn't really care for either of them. They weren't bad, but neither really grabbed my attention; I ended up selling the CDs to someone else. A couple of years later I happened to hear them again and realized "oh crap, these are actually really good!" and had to go re-acquire the discs. I now consider them two of the really great metal albums of the entire 1980s, but for whatever reason they did not click with me when I first heard 'em.
