"Morbid Tales" by Celtic Frost has a Massive Discharge/Crude SS influence.
"Killed By Faith" by Abandoned (from 1985) is a HC band that has adopted alot of Metal Influences.
Battalion of Saint's LP "second coming" from 1984 is also a HC band sounding very Metallic
many more.......

As obvious as it may sound, Motörhead pretty much embodies crossover. Or proto-crossover if you prefer.

Some early occurrences that come to mind include Brats (pre-Mercyful Fate), Tank, Plasmatics, The Beast (NJ)... then a bit later English Dogs, Sacrilege (UK), and a lot of Japanese bands (GISM, The Execute, Ghoul, Gastunk, Zouo...). I'm sure I forget a lot of obvious ones.

Maybe Frigid Bich and The Beast (I mean the band known from the allegedly unofficial "Last Beastial Incarnation" LP).

Howsabout the last 2 Mayhem (UK) EP's, 'Pulling Puppet Strings' & 'Bloodrush'?
Maybe the 'Megalomania' EP & 'Se Parare Nex' LP by The Blood, and the Overkill (L.A.) stuff might fit the bill too.
Worth mentioning Bad Brains too, i always thought they had a really 'Metal' guitar tone & they truly nailed playing at break-neck speed before most others.

Punishment of Luxury usually lumped more in with post-punk, but this one song is surprisingly metallic for 1979 punk music imo (especially that thrashy chug under the chorus):

I was just about to mention the blood and overkill la. Also recently was listening to Cockney Rejects "greatest hits vol 1" and "vol 2" and a lot of their songs have a heavy hard rock/metallish vibe specifically the song "the rocker" which I think sounds like a Holocaust song with punk vocals. I guess you could also put some songs on The Damned "Machine Gun Etiquette" in this category as well the title track, Love Song and Plan 9 Channel 7 all have a lot of fast Eddie Clarke style leads on them.

Well, I am not that much into hardcore myself (esp. Japanese one) but I will check them out of curiousity.
