GENOCIDE - Roots In Rock MLP 1990

Post by DaN »

OK, let's talk some more conventional Metal: GENOCIDE - Roots In Rock just got added to the reviews-section. Opinions? I think it's surprisingly great considering Switzerland wasn't exactly crowded with top-tier traditional Heavy Metal bands in the 80's and early 90's. Def' something for fans of the Accept-school of Euro-Steel.

'Am no expert on trad heavy metal, but this song sounds good to me, cool even. Can not remember who they remind me of, ARROW perhaps (with less tempo), SINNER circa Touch of Sin, the latter are certainly in ACCEPT's school, as you mentioned it.

Considering it's the 3rd best song out of 4 on the album it's a really nice one, yes

Dan, are you finally converting to CD?

Odd that you would post the video containing the CD when there is a vinyl version:

Anyways, decent band that I wish was just a tad more consistent on the full-length followup to this EP.

Still some decent songs though:

Not bad, nothing sensational either. Feels like I've heard it all before a hundred times.

Have listened to 'Hialmar' and 'Born To Rock' off "Showtime" and at least in 'Hialmar' I detected some elements of JAG PANZER and even early FATES WARNING, of course all mixed with BLIND GUARDIAN(?). Then I listened to 'Price Of Treason' and must say it has grown on me beautifully since yesterday, and again I detected some Harry "The Tyrant" in singing. How are the two tracks that are even better than this one?
