Metal with early-MAIDEN influence!

Post by Troma »

I'm totally in love with this style of metal, can anyone recommend me more bands/albums?

can be old or new, obscure or famous, all kind of formats, from all genres...

so far I only know, but highly enjoy:

Savage Grace
Omen
Enforcer

also some Taramis and Dark Quarterer.

please recommend me every band that comes to your mind.

thanks in advance!

I second the Powervice...it does not get much more early Maiden worship than that...

thanks so far, they all sound very promising. the voice is not that important actually, more the musicship, especially harmonized melodies and catchy riffing in general.

gimme more please :)

Perhaps Aria (Rus), they are sometimes referred to as the Iron Maiden of Russia.

This list can turn huge since so many bands with the omnipresent maiden influence.
Vitacit 1st lp (Cze)
Dark Knight Ep (USA)
not just Master control but all Liege Lord albums
Griffin (USA), esp with their 1st demo.
Tokyo Blade early stuff and Genghis Khan/Killer (UK)era especially.
Nightmare (Col)

Killer/Genghis Khan/Tokyo Blade started in early 1980, less than a year after Soundhouse Tapes, so i must say that they were part of the same movement (like Dark Star etc.) that were playing in a similar style. Maybe when we talk about Maiden influences we should talk about a bit later bands.
