ODYSSEY (S. Africa)
Thought some of you might like to see this. I recently got in contact with the sister of one of the band members. She sent me this image of a poster the band made to promote their killer LP back in the day (image posted here with her permission):

Fantastic album. The only band that I've ever listened to out of South Africa. I've always said that the album could have come out of the US Power scene sounding quite similar to "Nosferatu" era Helstar.
I really think you should pass on the contact information you have to Iordan. I would really love to see a legitimate re-issue of this.
SACRIFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCEEEEEEEE!!!

Avenger- I too associate their sound with USPM, though I associate them with Thundersteel-era Riot moreso than Helstar, but that's just me. 'Sacrifice' definitely does have a 'Nosferatu' vibe.
Aiden- Yes, the cover is reminiscent of Atheist's 'Unquestionable Presence' and 'Elements', though it pre-dates those two albums.
And yes, I have offered to put them in touch with some labels if they are interested in pursuing a reissue. Her brother was the rhythm guitarist, and she is also still in contact with the vocalist. The band members are now spread out around the world, so they are not still in South Africa.

Sorry Kristian, no hidden stash of LPs. I bought her only copy of the album; she doesn't have a turntable any more so she decided it was time to part with it. It was the #2 LP on my want list, so I was really happy to get it, and she's been very nice to chat with via email. The poster is her brother's, but she was kind enough to take a picture of it and email it to me.Khnud wrote:So, are you getting copies of the original LP?
