There are all kinds of people in this world and all kinds of labels too. But your statement here is really offensive in a way I don't think you understand. Not all people are scum. Not all labels are scum. Of course some are, but in a world of billions that is to expected.
I'm thinking of a very specific instance in my history of my label. Yes I had a small label. I sold records. I didn't really make any money at it but I enjoyed it for a time. But I made a lot of friends along the way that respect what I did, and that is enough. Anyway this band I'm thinking of, they were really happy that I helped them in my small way. Very happy. So happy didn't forget and I've helped them since my release when I could. I remember the mainman of the band telling me that in all their history no one ever helped them like I did. No I didn't own the rights to the music nor was that my intent. And you can say, "no seller helped the scene anyway"? Well I never cared for any "scene", but I do care about this band and enjoyed helped them, it was worth it, even for little money. I did rescue their past from oblivion. So think just a little harder before making accusations like this.
