i came to the conclusion, reading your opinions, that certain scenes sometimes lack of "progression/heaviness/speed/catchiness etc,u name it" while other scenes have it...i tend to get agressive with US thrash more than german...but i prefer euro metal to raise my fist and drink my beer...hungarian scene is my fav eastern european scene, cause they try to combine everything from other scenes BUT IN THEIR LANGUAGE!
i like vectom, as well as jag panzer...i would never break the balance of the heavy metal force in the world

I find most of the modern groove metal or bands like filth or dimmu a lot worse than Vectom. To make it clear, I don't find the band anything special (average and generic band imo) but I just can't see why it is THAT bad.

exactly, i never said it was killer stuff...plus the 80s scene in general was crowed with this kind of bands....The Erlking wrote:I find most of the modern groove metal or bands like filth or dimmu a lot worse than Vectom. Whilst I really like the French scene the most & a lot of German stuff (& bits of Eastern European), I find a lot of 'Euro Power (Thrash) Metal' very happy & gallopy sounding, especially the choruses.
& it's one thing that always turned me off a lot of those 'Fucking Amal' rave bands..
You very rarely get any US Metal sounding like that...
Yes the US had an over-kill of glam/psuedo-glam power/thrash bands, but the songs and sound was always waaaaaay tougher and more serious than the plethora of pre & post-Helloween/Gamma Gay bands!
...most of those Euro bands wore spandex and had shocking hair-do's anyway, that mixed with the happy/average vocal songs wasn't really very tough in my eyes/ears...
This is all my opinion!
BTW - Brainfever rule!

Who says that they have to be black? The Erlking wrote:Black spandex rules and is metal. End of discussion
Look at some of the spandex Dickinson wore in the Maiden videos and he still makes it look "metal" as fuck.
