Not from Chicago.

Wrath and Stygian are also up there in my list.

Hatrik were also kind of cool with those crazy vocals.

Has anyone heard any of the Threat demos?

Chi-town had/has a plethora of awesome metal bands. A lot of my American faves hail from the Windy City.

Ultimate band from the metropolitan area was Stormbringer without any doubt... There's also a "new generation" of bands like Cryptic Visions, Imperial Rage, Scepter, Twelfth Gate, Spirit Web, Syris, Winterkill & tons of other great bands. Chicago rules! 8)

<-SINDROME-> is thee quintessential Chicago-act and no other could ever match them imo. The old Chicago-scene as a whole was one of the US' best (MASTER/DEATHSTRIKE, WAR CRY, DAMIEN THORNE, SLAUTER EXTROYES, ENFORCER etc..) and I'm hoping someone would start up a site about it, similar to MotorCityRocks or TexasMetalUnderground. Here's looking at you, Professor

Same here. Easily the best "Chicago metal" band. Winter Kill would be in my top 20 Heavy Metal albums list.

I don't have a favourite band, but War Cry's Trilogy of Terror demo is my favourite Chicago release.
