NWOBHM meets Punk Rock

Post by LaGouille »

Sorry if this is rendundant with another topic but to me it has nothing to do with the 'bad NWOBHM' thread although I imagine some people will disagree.

Well, contrary to what many people think (especially exclusive NWOBHM collectors or exclusive Punk Rock collectors), these two styles mixed together have led to some splendid results.

Examples :
* Chainsaw 'Hole in the road'
* Red Rage 7''
* Stormtrooper 7'' (tracks recorded in 1975 !)

I probably have more but that's the three I can think of right now. Any similar 'shit' you like? I'm curious.

Hell, I was expecting some obscure bands and obscure records :cry:

New rule, new challenge: no 'big' names/'established' bands allowed :D

omen of hate > the Lightning Raiders is another fine example. Their two singles are truly great. One at least was produced by Steve Jones if memory serves me right!

The Professionals-Didn't See It Coming lp is a great mix of punk and rock/nwobhm (about 80%punk and 20% rock/nwobhm imo)

Sounds more like punk rock with some glam rock overtones to me, but a great record for sure. Nice MLP as well!
