hi guys
denis here. long story short, i'm writing a serie of articles for my blog about the metal massacre compilations. retrospective, in-depht track-by-track analysis, an so on. In particular, I'm trying to find all the information about the obscure and minor acts. I wrote an email to the site and dan advised me to sign up and ask you. I've been browsing the forum recently, but i haven't found anything.
i'm looking for info about Molten Leather, a band in Metal Massacre II. nothing came out up to this point apart from the song.
And maybe some futher info about Avatar, in the first one. Found something about them, but not much.
can you help me?

You mean apart from the fact that they changed their name to
Savatage shortly after?
Except for the fact that that's a different band.

Anthony Kornarens was the Guitar player and main person behind the band.
His SISTER is ..............??

thanks for the info to everyone.
well, what do I need? anything useful to compile short profiles.
now I know avatar were masterminded by anthony kornarens, brother of sentinel
anything else?
was this kornarens related to john '50 bucks' kornarens, good friend of brian slagel and lars ulrich back in the days? according to the legend, the three guys used to hang out together in search of nwobhm records...
and is this anthony kornarens nowadays a lawyer? because there's famous lawyer in santa monica active in the second part of the 80s very often quoted in matters regarding legal representation of musical artists.... could it be the same person?
any other info on avatar?

The Lawyer is the father if I remeber correctly.
Anthony in the band was John Anthony Kornarens YES the same John "50 Bucks" Kornarens from back in the day. Had a great collection that Jim and I purchased some time ago. But still has a few big things he's holding on to (For Now)
Not only is Sentinel (Daina Arens, Kornarens) his sister but I am pretty sure she played Bass in the band as well.
You have to remember the first MM comp was kind of like friends and family.
A little trivia John's roomate at that time was Yngwie and that is who got him to play with Steeler

Marc Moreno -1982- Drums
Diane Kornarens -1982- Bass
Anthony Kornarens -1982- Guitars
Darien Mann -1982- Vocals
any other trivia about the compilation you'd like to share?
