Virtue - We Stand To Fight 7" - Phoenix Records

Post by msp »

I recently picked up a copy of Virtue - We Stand To Fight 7" on a label called Phoenix Records.

This is obviously some kind of bootleg but does anyone know anything else about this label and what other releases they did? I tried to Google it but it seems to be a minefield. Any help and or information (such as a web link) is appeciated.

Vielen dank!
Matt

I saw a list of the Phoenix bootlegs somewhere recently, but I can't remember where at the moment

Embarrasing anecdote: the 6-7 first releases were nicked from a CDR I made a few years ago, with the artwork included as a CD-rom track. Somehow a copy of this found its way to Brazil and *WHAMMO!* - bootlegs aplenty.

Looks like Phoenix Records is a Brazillian bootleg label that released about a dozen 7" singles limited to 250 copies each on different coloured vinyl!? Other bands apparently released are Arc, Hammerhead, Sparta, Chainsaw, Hell & maybe Hologram (Holocaust)?

Impressive list !!
Is this stuff still available ?

I don't find anything about a Phoenix label in Brazil on the web, it's only mentionned in the VIRTUE bio on Rock Detective.

Hopefully they are not available but all smashed, burned, flushed down the toilet or otherwise dealt with the way bootleg shit should be dealt with.

That VIRTUE 7" is some of the best heavy metal ever. An original copy in near mint condition sold recently on Ebay for more than I could afford (about 130 English Pounds if memory serves me right?) -- I'll settle with the Phoenix bootleg for now.

The 1987 demo is pretty cool too, but nowhere as perfect as the 7".

Well the songs on demo are pretty perfect to me. Hideaway really blew me away the first time I heard it.

I was willing to pay 90 pounds on that auction if my memory is correct, pity :(
