Just saw this now. Some one needs to let this guy know to lay off the LSD or at least listen to the era of music where that was expected by the listener.

Listening to the British Warhammer's Abattoir of Death demo again. Kept hearing "Satan's Angel" as "Shit Licker."

Well, this one is not really a mishearing but rather a misinterpretation but for a very long time, I thought that when King Diamond sang we raise our glasses in "Welcome Princes Of Hell" he meant as in they raised their shades/eyeglasses to see better because they couldn't believe their eyes or something. Only after listening to that song about 1000 times I realized he meant they raised their wine glasses as in a toast.

Not really Metal, but you may remember the band Kingdom Come?
My friend Stuart bought their 'In Your Face' album on cassette back in the day, and that damn tape lived in his car's cassette deck for months to the point where i knew it off by heart eventually. One of the songs still cracks me up laughing as i'd misherd the chorus lyric for sooo long before discovering i'd gotten it completely wrong.
The song in question was 'Just Like A Wild Rose', which i'd heard for weeks as 'She's just like a wire brush'.
I think i just assumed it was their way of calling the girl in the lyric a 'scrubber', UK slang for a woman who is generous with her favours. I'd never even questioned it until one day i picked up the case and saw the title listed correctly.
I still hear it to this day, particularly on the 2nd chorus.
Sing along now folks:

Was recently listening to Atrophy's "Violent by nature" Album in the car and the Refrain of the track "In their eyes" in german sounds much like "Himbeereis" ("raspberry icecream" in english), though the german guys will find it prohably more funny than english speaking People. I just can't hide a smile when I hear that song...

Was just reading your RYM list Ernest & this one really made me laugh:

Coroner Mental Vortex (1991)
Ron Royce is the "Son of Lilith", & that's not all:

My youth's my defence
My beard is my weapon
I really suck
I've got the Moon... in my flares

Bravo!

In a roundabout fashion that made me recall my early interpretation of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', whererin 'Beelzeebub has a devil for a sideboard'!

Never used to be able tell if the line from Screaming for Vengeance was:

And then you're pushed and shoved into a free car man!

or

And then you're pushed and shoved into Africaaaa man!

Not Metal but I used to hear the first lines of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights as:

Over the white king
In divorce we'd roll and fall in trees....

Was telling a friend of mine about this thread last week and as a reult he confessed that as a youngster he misheard Ozzy's 'Crazy Train' in this amusingly cloth-eared fashion.

Crazy, But that's how it goes
