I don't have anything against ballads if they are done well. Some good ones are already mentioned like Deep Switch - Lovers Of The Dream, Judas Priest - Epitaph (I also like Last Rose Of Summer), Rainbow - Catch The Rainbow etc.

My add would be VIRGIN STEELE - A Cry In The Night. Say what you say but to me it's fucking beautiful.

yup,completely acustic, with a slower pace, and low vocal aproach, but beautifully arranged, u know how David D is :wink:

Has anyone mentioned Helstar's "Curse Has Passed Away"? "Aieliaria and Everonn" is also great, if it can be considered a ballad.

The top ballad for me has to be "Promises" from the Lord "The Second Coming" LP. Guy Lord sings that one like a true lounge crooner. Maybe the only time a ballad has been the first track on a heavy metal LP.

Number two would be "You Song" from the Rajas " Turn it Up" LP.
