Ripped from the vinyl coz I like the mix better than on the Red Decibel CD issue.
...and the Glorious, Majestic lyrics:
Have you seen the jewels of Golgatha,
Shining brighter than the Stars of North
Have you seen the vast deserts of Saba
Piercing your heart like a glimpse of eternity
Have you seen the ruins of Karnak
And felt how great a man's mind can be
Have you known that perfection is understanding
And that to understand you only must love
I have wandered the infinite forests
And let the emerald green be a part of me
I have fought the white wolves in winter
And seen the sun go down in blood-red snow
I have climbed the high mountains of Tibet
Where the beauty of nature hurts like agony
I have been to the holy city of Jerech
But all their Gods ment nothing to me
My heart feels
Like a cold block of stone
My past is lost
And my fire is broken
The time I was free
Is long forgotten
But in every hill
I still live

Well, BLOODSTAR never were Metal and I agree that their music is more monotonous than for instance Hammerheart-BATHORY, CANDLEMASS etc.. But the music really works best while listening to the complete album, including the faster Motörhead-meets-Godflesh-meets-IronMaiden cuts as well. I'll do the full LP rip tomorrow..
I don't know if I've ever pointed it out on this forum, but this album really is my #1 all-time fave and have been so for the last 20+ years. Really. No exaggerations this time. Even better than "Don't Break The Oath", "Killing Technology", "The Velvet Underground w/ Nico", "Into Battle" and "Sing To God"(CARDIACS), so I'll probably keep defending it relentlessly to the death, whatever you infidels say

Honestly, I wasn't blown away by it, but I want to hear the entire album to say something final. I understand that this is not your typical and simple songwriting so it might need a few more listens to get into it. Looking forward to your vinyl rip, Dan.

This is an AMAZING track. It is definitely reminiscent of Bathory, but also sounds like a more organic version of what Red Harvest became after the technothrash beginnings.DaN wrote:Yes I can! ---> [instantly playable DivShare link]ION BRITTON wrote:Can u please upload that track?

Very eager to hear the whole LP - is it an elusive bugger?
Good choice.Black Axe wrote:Well, if it's as boring as you seem to think, I'd better stay away too.Avenger wrote:Black Axe wrote:No. I'm not that familiar with mid-era Bathory.
