Re: What song did I hear parts of?

There's not a lot to go on, it was played at background music at Muskelrock this year, but couldn't identify it... It was 80s style heavy metal or 80s sounding style heavy metal. I recall one line right before the chorus being "coup d'etat" and the first line of the chorus being something...

Re: STEEL ASSASSIN from Bay Area, circa 1986

I'm upping this, just to emphasise that if you buy stuff for +50 USD from Stormspell you get this release for free. And it's really worth it. Had this been released in 500 copies back in 1986, it would be as expensive as Leather Nunn by now. I thought this was a limited offer for a week. Not sure i...

Re: A database of lost inserts - new site feature!

Does anyone know if STEEL ANGEL or the VULCAIN releases came w/ inserts? I hope not :| My copy of the first Vulcain LP does come with an insert! Most copies I've seen don't have one though, I was told only the first few had one. No clue why. Same with the ACID - ACID lp. First ones had a lyric inse...

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

But looks like in the early nineties I was wandering around and after a decade of heavy metal I was "open" as it seems for other musical tastes... I found myself in much the same place as you Zanker. Exploring other styles in search of those musical thrills that seemed to be in short supp...

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

Ugh Infectious Grooves - part of that that whole godawful "Funk Metal" trend that seemed to come off the back of the success of slap-happy garbage like early Faith No More, Extreme & RHCP(who for some bizarre reason received heavy coverage in the "Metal" press at the time) a...

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

Ya know that, Zanker, that I liked them, too. I highly regarded Rob's playing. Should still do. Haven't listen to them for eternity. I know first three albums. The fourth I missed completely. Yes, indeed there was a relation too with Revolting Cocks. I think the singer was involved with Skatenigs. ...

Re: Your Top Wantlist Items

I have a pretty big wantlist too, but doesn't it say TOPwantlist? What's on top of the huge list?
Mine is METAL MERCHANT. I don't know if I will ever have this in my collection, hence the TOPwant.

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

This thread has actually inspired me to do small inventory check but not for sake of clean anything let alone sell it and I found out I have a copy of Ultra Metal compi. I don't remember buying it or whatever. I also completely forgot I bought recent US Metal releases from Trauma and Ruthless. Was ...

Re: Genres You Got Tired Of

I consider Fistful Of Metal ... thrash metal. NO, NO & NO hahaha! 2nd! Back in the day this was considered speedmetal (well, where I was from that is).The difference was more in the vocals part. Thrash was more rougher vocals. Anthrax first album is in my book speed metal, not thrash, not even ...

Re: Early SODOM

If you have it on CD you already have the same version as the Metal Blade/Banzai LP editions. They’re the same, while the Steamhammer LP is a different recording w/ an extra song. Yeah..I wish i could think like this... it's that collectors bug that I just can't kill for the moment. I need this one...

Re: Early SODOM

Yes, Great cover artwork. If I'm not mistaken this was used too for an Iron Maiden bootleg cd.

Re: Early SODOM

Don't worry Zanker, some people are doomed never to own the American version. I have three copies of the Steamhammer edition but never found a Metal blade one. And I missed out on the reissue double LP and now everyone's charging >50 euro for it, which I refuse to pay. I'll find it someday but it's...
