 I would argue with you, but today I realized that I am the village bicycle as far as heavy metal goes. I NEED everything that MOTORHEAD ever made, so today I actually bought the Spongebob Squarepants movie soundtrack (... ) just for the MOTORHEAD song. As I was installing the CD into m...

Ohhh I LOVE Wyzard.

Then again I am a total whore when it comes to metal music. If you play a solid riff, have some spirit, and throw a gliding solo over it, I'll lie down and take it... HAHA.

I agree about RAZOR - they were not a SLAYER copy. I like SACRIFICE and INFERNAL MAJESTY more than SLAYER, too. Sorry to say it..."Show No Mercy" at least is solid JUDAS PRIEST worship for me. About the Canadian Thrash Scene, I've heard that there was a great fest in late 2005 in Quebec wi...

Well my favourite bands from Peru are mostly thrash metal (SEPULCRO, MORTUORIO, NECROPSYA, HADEZ). Does he like stuff like that? Or '70s stuff?

Damn...

OXIDO is an old heavy metal band from 1982 ( ? ) or so that is pretty good by my tastes.

It's a fantastic piece of steel. At the risk of sounding uber-kvlt I still like their first album the best (it had an "open" quality to the instrumentation and even some doomy stylings), but this one is just... madness. Amazing album, ESPECIALLY after so long. Some bands broke up when meta...

Argh Dan, what nice pics are this? Is this an official Casbah 7"`? I don't know it? Yes, it's their live one. I can copy it for you. GREAT release. "FEEEEEEEEAR ... and DES-TRUC-TIONFEAAAAAAAAAAAAR... and DESTRUCTION!" Plodding EVIL! CASBAH, JURASSIC JADE, DEMENTIA, SACRIFICE, UNITED...

There is one Canadian act though that I think should be named in this thread: Razor. I thought they were originally highly inspired by Slayer, yet I think Razor is the better of the two. Their songs are quite simple, but those lyrics kick HUGE ass! The highest amount of 'fuck you!-mentality' in a b...

IMO, it's quite mileading calling that music scene ''70's heavy metal''. Yes, those bands were bloody heavy and had that creepy, dark vibe but i am not so sure about the metallic-ness of their sound. Don't misunderstand me as i find many 70's heavy rock outfits great and i don't doubt about their q...

MESSIAH DEATH was pretty cool!! I prefer NECROPHILE a bit more though (despite the very thin sound of their production sometimes). Late '80s Japanese death metal bands are too numerous, and not all are great (of course).

Re: Clones we've learned to love...

I proclaim: INFERNÄL MÄJESTY's "None Shall Defy" album beats all and any SLAYER release to date. Yeah, they were pretty much a copy-cat act, but they were better than the original, at least on this album. They were also glam-metal posers who jumped into evil metal for the money (no joking...

NORTHWINDS rules. FLAMES & SPITFIRE too. SARISSA is pretty cool; does anybody like them? DECEPTOR too. A really good band from current times is REFLECTION. Their first album scared me off with its power-metallish cover art, but their second album, a concept album based on The Odyssey (no, it's c...
