Yeah I can see your point. Italy is a big mystery why it have turned out to be such a big breakground for Occult and Gloomy metal. Maybe because of the Catholic church. Well perhaps we have to take note that Manowar was a 4 piece band with a big label in some of their albums (WEA I think) with a good production budged and so on, while Bathory was mainly only Quorthon at a garage in Stokholm with very low budged. Is there anyone on earth who really likes "Requiem", "Octagon", "Destroyer of Worlds" and those? However "Blood on Ice" could maybe be attached to the six classics for me. Well I like them. Perhaps "Destroyer" is the very best but contains very good...

I always have thought on Candlemass as a band with a more Christian approach of what they could accept. A great band anyway.

Others I like are f. ex. Whitecross, Mass (USA), Messiah Force, Puño de Hierro, Leviticus and others in that vein.
