so I don't see the logic behind people buying something and saying haha I'm not going to let other people hear this. This is a pathological maladaptive state! Don't try to understand people with such kind of behaviour. Dude....you have no idea how fucked up these people are.... I know a guy who is ...

My final word on the matter. There are well known bands and artists that you wouldn't dare post up their material for free download for fear of certain legal retaliation. Like most things in life, the rich and powerful get protection while the little dude gets screwed. There are plenty of folks out ...

Please point me to the law that says that mp3s are reproductions of the original product and to which countries that law applies. In the U.S. copyright, intellectual property and publishing laws protect against the unlawful reproduction and/or playing of music....period. Certainly you understand th...

If you are selling the single item, without any implied rights to the music or distribution beyond the one person who purchases it, no they should not. Sorry, I just cannot agree with this. If you can actually differentiate right from wrong then you will know that the significance of the 'crime' is...

By reading the first post of yours I also want to ask you I know some people argue that selling a used record also cuts out the artist from any profit but the truth is they received their deserved profit when the record was originally purchased. Doesn't that deserved profit thing apply to the bands...

You mean that I still have to get permission from a band that actually gave their material for free back in the day and was all for spreading it in as many ways as possible? Doesn't THAT sound absurd to you? Jeeez...I'm saying we are talking about posting up music that the band did NOT give you mus...

You don't have to remind me of anything...if you spoke to a band and they gave you permission that is NOT what we are addressing here. You mean that I still have to get permission from a band that actually gave their material for free back in the day and was all for spreading it in as many ways as ...

Let me remind you that some bands were gaving their material for free... so it can't be always considered as 'stealing'. Some bands never asked anything in return, they just wanted their music to reach as many ears as possible. If you're a bit realistic in your plans, then you will know that you wi...

If I was going to start a blog where I posted up full LP's and artwork to be downloaded for free I'd do it the same way I ran my label. Contact the band and get their permission and input. If it is indeed true that most of them won't care this should be easy. The two obvious reasons I can think of ...

You are telling us that it the whole illegal and I don't say that it isn't. Please try to answer those questions though, because I don't think that I would be interested in this music the way I do now if I end up listening to same Maiden and Metallica records for the rest of my life and the most un...

This means that anyone who doesn't buy your CD is not allowed to listen to it.. If I want to eat a sandwich I need to buy a sandwich...or steal one. If I want to drive a car I need to buy/rent a car...or steal one. If I want to use a software program I need to buy it....or steal it. So what makes m...
