Re: MORE, 'Metal Explosion', and Time Travel

Paul Mario Day lives in Australia now , saw him supporting Ripper Owens with his band Crimson Lake about 7-8 years ago and spoke with him after their set...sid he was "just a wee lad" when he was in Maiden & More...mainly talked about his time with The Sweet and the '85 Bar Room Blitz...

Re: MORE, 'Metal Explosion', and Time Travel

Great story 'kit, as always! Maybe the time-travelling, disgruntled Paul Mario Day fanboy had to make a quick temporal stopover in your neighborhood to remove your copy of 'Warhead' from the timeline for reasons that I can't quite fathom. It's always a bit sad when you check your record racks and di...

Re: ATLANTEAN KODEX Course of Empires

Quick reply: I really love the new album, perhaps even more than 'The White Goddess'. the new one feels more complete somehow, though it may just be due to the longer track list. Regardless, AK is still my most favorite band of this New Iron Age.

MORE, 'Metal Explosion', and Time Travel

I recently got the 2 LP comp 'NWOBHM at the BBC Friday Rock Show Sessions vol 2'. First band on side 1 is MORE. Ugh. MORE? Really?! That's how you wanna start your NWOBHM comp?! Back up about 27 fucking years ago and I was buying my second NWOBHM album, the 'Metal Explosion' comp featuring tunes fro...

ATLANTEAN KODEX Course of Empires

Why don't I see a thread for this yet?
As my favorite band of this millennium, I'm gonna let others discuss this before I ramble on forever about it. Also, it's late and I'm sick, so this has to wait for another day. But let's at least get this Ouroboros rolling....

Re: Cirith Ungol

Sorry for the lineup typo in my review. I spent a long time digging around trying to figure out whether Jerry Fogle & Flint had actually recorded some of the music for the album but then left the lineup prior to the album's release or if the new guys really did record most-all of the music on th...

Comparing the 2 CRUCIFIXION Anthologies

Anyone know why both High Roller & CUlt Metal classics have near-identical CRUCIFIXION anthologies released this year? The HR collection includes one extra song, 'Sacrifice', which I'm unfamiliar with. Does anyone know if one version has better sound quality, better packaging/liner notes, etc? M...

Label Colors on NEAT Records

While comparing 2 Neat Records copies of Venom's 'Welcome to Hell' LP, I noticed that the lettering on the labels were different colors; one copy had blue lettering while the other copy had green. Discogs lists 2 additional colors too : silver & red. Do these different colors correspond to diffe...

Re: The Track 5 Theory

Mordred- I figured Rhapsody would support my theory. I bet Stratovarius does too, but I'll let someone else do the legwork to confirm that suspicion. Kit- I hereby put you in charge of testing Track 5 Theory to see if it does indeed apply across subgenres. If so, we may have actually stumbled upon a...

I can help re-up if someone knows a good, free uploader that doesn't require an account. I mostly use dropbox for such matters anymore, but it never gets used 'round here

The Track 5 Theory

Hi folks- Yes, it's been awhile since I visited. Been a kinda shitty year at home and at work, but things have settled a tad, so I finally caught up on some Corro reading. While doing so I noticed that Noisenik had posted a reply in my old RUNNING WILD thread expressing interest in trying to prove m...
