A few days ago I went to the Chicago Powerfest, with Atheist as the headliner. It was the first show I'd been to in almost two years.

The record stores in Chicago I've been to don't seem to have much in the way of metal LPs. Only major label bands like Rainbow, Judas Priest, Scorpions, etc.

I don't think I'll ever be able to get into collecting obscure vinyl, due to the expense.

Loud and Legendary is a pretty good one. It's a six page newsletter with reviews of old vinyl and demos.
