interesting bandnames for sleazy HR(Lethal Fury). Mace are the "Evil In Good"-Mace? Nope, completely different Mace! I should also mention that it's not the same Thrust that released "Fist Held High", and I'm pretty sure it's not the same Failsafe that had a track on U.S. Metal ...

which bands are featured on the Massachusets Metal you mentioned not so long in another thread? Mace, Thrust, Spike Raven, The Pact, Drifter, Rockkit, Exact, Fail Safe, Voyager, Lethal Fury, and Tyrus. They're mostly in the sleaze/hard rock category, but it's worth getting if you're into that (whic...

Awesome! I love manualism, but you don't usually see it done with metal songs.

Re: Lyrics explanation

I always thought it was about a vampire, based on these lines:
Prowl in the darkness, pierce your throat
And your life-force is drained
Now my disciple, I take you and make you my slave
and
As I see the sun rise on these ancient sands
My immortal gift lies dying in your hands

Really? I'm pretty sure I paid less than $40 for mine, and the censored version definitely sells for less than that. Well according to the Goldmine Heavy Metal Price Guide (Martin Popoff), it's worth $75US in NM condition. He also lists Commander - High and Mighty at $30 NM, and the Taist of Iron L...

Greatest Welsh band ever was/is BUDGIE!!! You're fucking right! :D Budgie is awesome, but even though they emulated the NWOBHM style in the early 80s they debuted back in 1971 so they can't really be called NWOBHM (not that that's going to stop me from buying their records!) As for your statement, ...

I don't get out much, and if I do go record shopping I'm lucky if I even see an Iron Maiden record. Not much metal around these parts. However, last weekend I found these 3 LPs for $5 each:

King Diamond - Them
Manowar - Battle Hymns (Brazilian pressing)
V/A - Massachusetts Metal

Are you sure that's a woman?

Possibly my favorite compilation is the infamous Death Metal LP on Noise Records. Exclusive tracks by Running Wild, Hellhammer, Helloween and an unknown band called Dark Avenger. What more could you need? Yeah! & it's worth a fortune nowadays too! :( Really? I'm pretty sure I paid less than $40...

Rhiannon Tomos (vocalist on Y Diawled's Noson Y Blaidd) She made a solo release? What's it like? I only have one Rhiannon Tomos track on some Welsh compilation (the one with the barn on the cover), I think it's from her album. Need to give it a spin, but I think it was something between hard rock a...

Collectors' regrets

We all make mistakes. What are some of your worst mistakes as far as collecting old, obscure metal goes? Ever sell a record for $5 and later discover it's worth $500? Paid big bucks for something that turned out to be a cheap reproduction? Or maybe you passed on a good deal and have been kicking you...

For the S.O.S. single I have no idea, but here's the Noson y Blaidd single I won:

From what I remember of the few others I've seen for sale, the price I paid is about average.
