Re: "Astra Wally" M.I.A.?

Saw him at a Vomitor gig late april, he's alive and well, probably just busy with off-line stuff. Thanks for the info humus, that's good to hear. Good thing i hadn't yet got round to sending a concerned e-mail to him via the address zanker kindly provided me with. As all appears to be well perhaps ...

"Astra Wally" M.I.A.?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so feel free to move it to a more suitable locale if need be. Was just wondering if anyone has heard anything of longtime Corro member Astra Wally aka Julien? He used to be a pretty active member here & i noticed he hadn't been around lately so check...

Re: "Run of the mill" albums

Lol, interesting/amusing topic for a thread. The one that instantly comes to mind is The Hookers 'Hookers II : Black Visions Of Crimson Wisdom', which i've absolutely loved from the very first time i heard it, despite the fact that i absolutely recognize that there's nothing truly unique or exceptio...

Re: Cover variations / Different Covers (Vinyl only)

It was never released (as far as i know) with that cover, although the 2015 Goldencore 'Utimate Edition' digipak CD release does use it as the front cover for the inner booklet. This one: https://www.discogs.com/Manilla-Road-Open-The-Gates/release/7218606 Thank you my friend! Happy to assist. Such ...

Re: Cover variations / Different Covers (Vinyl only)

the originally comissioned artwork for Manilla Road's 'Open The Gates' was dropped in favour of Eric Larnoy's familiar iconic cover. https://i.postimg.cc/J73dF4Xh/R-7218606-1436490090-6082-jpeg.jpg Never seen this Manila cover before! Has it ever been released with this cover? It was never released...

Re: Cover variations / Different Covers (Vinyl only)

Ah Great to see this thread pops up again...although it looks like we're the only ones that have a soft spot for cover variations tbieri Not at all, i find it a fascinating topic too & have lurked long on this thread, but you guys are far better versed in the arcane world of sleeve variations than ...

Re: 1895 old reviews have been added to The Corroseum

7 new album reviews added , 4 more from Alan/nightsblood and 3 from me (I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for all the bullshit in the Demon Eyes review - once I got started it was hard to stop). HAZ-upload in progress as I'm writing this. Some music while you wait: HHdgySAwhCM DaN, tha...

Stumbled across this song on YT earlier & thought it had a heaped spoonfull of 'Endless Skies' era Ashbury vibe:

What makes that even funnier is the inflection that Ozzy chose to put on "assholes". Very non-chalant.
Lol, that's exactly what i thought, and I keep finding myself singing the modified lyric in my head.

Re: "Did I hear that right?!"

Was telling a friend of mine about this thread last week and as a reult he confessed that as a youngster he misheard Ozzy's 'Crazy Train' in this amusingly cloth-eared fashion.

Crazy, But that's how it goes

Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 2 out now!

Another fascinating listen DaN, thank you so much for your efforts. This one's gonna take quite a bit of digesting, but from my intial few spins there seem to be quite a few instant ear-grabbers & several more will doubtless emerge with further listening. Nice to hear some unexpected parping 80s ana...

I'm fairly certain that is a toy stuffed cat in that basket. I believe that basket itself is one of those things for kids to put they baby dollies to bed in, like a mini plastic crib or something. If not then it is something to hold a cat litter box. Not quite sure, could double for both. A questio...

Re: Great crossover tracks

This has been going on for years now, the genre is known as Mashup'. I admit i've become quite fond of several of these bastardizations, plainly a lot of skill required in putting them together & often the results are pretty humourous. Loads of good Metallic examples out there, some of the best bein...

Re: Now Playing Thread

https://i.postimg.cc/FR8psKxH/folder.jpg Some great music on this. Inventive & really memorable epic songs distinguished by clever arrangements & truly outstanding guitarwork. At times, such as on 'Resistencia', there's an almost Mercyful Fate vibe to proceedings. Who knew that this was happening i...

Re: 1895 old reviews have been added to The Corroseum

Bravo. Very much enjoyed both reviews Alan, particularly your amusing musings on Aryon's possible motivations/justifications for that cover photo. In order not to be too disturbed by it i try to tell myself that they're all queued up outside the window trying to muster up the courage to ask the litt...
