Nightsblood just wrote a review of Paradise Lost. I think I agree with every single word.
I don't, because the review says "absence of Flint and Jim in the string section". Jim is playing on the album. Jerry, however, isn't. I'm sure this is just a typo though.

Re: Specific Hardcore-punk/ Metal bands

Damage (FI) - Immortal Death has plenty of hardcore influences, despite most often being labelled as speed/thrash.

You obviously put a LOT of effort into this, nicely done.

Re: MERCYFUL FATE REUNION 2020

Great news of course, but where is Denner? Last time I spoke to him at his shop in Copenhagen he said that while MF is totally King's band, he was ready to play if King wanted him to.

Re: Comparing the 2 CRUCIFIXION Anthologies

No clue. At first I thought that CMC did the CD version and HR the vinyl version, but now I see that HR also has a CD coming out. I've preordered the HR vinyl copy but as it won't be released until late August, it'll take a while before I can let you know what it sounds like.

Re: Insane Ebay Auctions - Vinyl, Tapes & Merch

That dude lists all of his super rare 45s at top prices, likely just to show off what he owns. I doubt he's ever going to accept any "Best offer" on them, he's not interested in selling them really.

I would like to see a thread discuss "Metal hunting in the Amazon" instead. :-D Are there any good stores in Manaus?

Re: What old cult metal bands have all original members?

Rammstein, ZZ Top and U2 are the only "famous" bands I know about with all original members (since the release of their first album), that have been around for ages.

Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 4 out now!

Finally got around to actually listening to the first issue (Teutonic Evasion). For me, the best of the bunch were STONE AGE and LAZY WIZZARD. Damn catchy tunes if not the most pummelling tracks of the comp. Stone Age are called White Witch in the Discogs entry for that sampler the track is taken fr...

Re: The Track 5 Theory

I don't own many power metal albums, but I dug out the latest BLAZON STONE offering from the shelves, and sure enough we have 1) instrumental intro 2) all guns blazing 3) slower but still killer 4) much more mid tempo 5) meep meep!

I'm a believer!

Re: Insane Ebay Auctions - Vinyl, Tapes & Merch

Bargain hunting days are not completely over. Last month I bought a rockabilly single from a guy who lives in the next closest town from here. Listed it on Discogs and it sold after only 20 minutes, for over 6 times what I payed, to a Japanese dealer with 1500+ feedback. I'm pretty sure he's going t...

Re: Insane Ebay Auctions - Vinyl, Tapes & Merch

From a Discogs point of view = more listings, even at ridiculous prices = more chances of sales = more income. They do not care if it's annoying for buyers. They will only care if it annoys buyers to the level buyers would start to avoid Discogs, but seeing their sales increase every month that is ...

Re: Insane Ebay Auctions - Vinyl, Tapes & Merch

Yes, I've said it before and I say it again: eBay and particularly Discogs are rapidly becoming online showrooms for collectors. To flaunt what they own, without the intent of selling anything in their collection. Ever . That is why I'm constantly pestering Discogs with requests to implement listing...
