There is a great divide in metal sub-culture that I have witnessed for many years. It boils down to this: Certain metalheads feel the need to ridicule their peers for the bands they like or don't like and say " You aren't TRUE enough! " I call this the Poseur Complex. Others will proselyti...

Personally I don't think it matters so much why we listen to metal. We simply do it because we are attracted to its power and force. Metal, and music in general, is a great form of self-expression. If you analyze it musically, Warrel Dane's voice was very undeveloped at the time of those Sanctuary r...

The thinker... His thoughts inevitably collapse himself upon himself. The tragic discovery of the universe unfolds! I live to die How can my father turn to a God Who creates everything to die? I feel deceived, rejected... How can one pray? All so useless, senseless, cruel... Then I prefer to turn aw...

I just realized, I partially detailed the rationale behind this very subject on my reviews site: "While on the surface this record may seem like an average American thrash metal effort, its true roots and influences are much more vast and confusing. The music of Manilla Road is in many cases a ...

Long lapses can get people's hopes up but there's no logical reason to judge the release based on time alone. As you said, there are other factors involved than writing an album. Touring, side projects, taking personal time off, etc. Paradise Lost is a great album. Even if they did spend 5 solid yea...

Couldn't agree with you any more on your last post ION BRITTON.

I have no problem sharing with polite folks who have files but maybe not any you need or want. There are rewards to sharing with these kind of individuals. You can actually get them into good albums that you like which is cool.

I've got over 800 metal cover songs and there's no way I'd randomly let someone jack them all. 20, 30, 50, sure - but not all of them. That's just a matter of principle, though. Then again, sharing is ultimately vital. Someone had to share with you for you to acquire your collection so it just stand...
