Re: Swords of Steel Omnibus - Metal/Fantasy Anthology

One of the new stories is "Return to Stynar Vort" by DoomSword vocalist Joe "Deathmaster" Minichino. Here's an excerpt, along with two of his paintings.

I got recently into a debate about the current Judas Priest lineup.

Should it be considered as Judas Priest? or Ian and friends band?
Scott Travis may not be an original member, but he's been in Priest much longer than all the previous drummers combined. That's got to count for something.

You're welcome! Here's a review you might find interesting. No real info about the band though, just a discussion of the music.

Well, that's discouraging news, but I appreciate your persistence in trying to make it happen. Hopefully a copy will turn up and your efforts will pay off.

I've been listening to this a lot recently. I have no information about the band, however. You can find a rip of it at heavymetalrarities.com.

I'm not interested in buying a CDR (I already have one I made myself), but I would buy an official CD reissue immediately.

There's a new band from Chicago called Ancient Seance that remind me of "Irae Melanox" a little bit.

Re: Wrong Speed Metal

Playing 33s on 45 is my favorite thing about vinyl. I don't have much of it so can't make many recommendations. The Moros Nyx - Rite of Rebellion 7" sounds pretty cool that way. My parents have a lot of classical music on vinyl, so I've experimented with that. My favorite is playing an LP of harpsic...

Re: Weird Finds While Cleaning Out Your Collection

The bands were lumped together & marketed as if they were something new & different, but their influences were easy to hear and they made no secret of their love of 70s Heavy Rock & 80s Metal. There was a great article by Dave Burns (which unfortunately isn't online anymore) detailing how record co...

Helloween - Better Than Raw
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth

Those are two of my all time favorite albums. Other really good ones:

Bal-Sagoth - Battle Magic
Anata - The Infernal Depths of Hatred
Mithotyn - King of the Distant Forest
