Raging Death LP 1987
Label: Godly Records #: GRX 001 Country: USA
Info: Classic Deathrash sampler compiled by Borivoj Krgin, representing the best selection of demos sent in to his old fanzine Violent Noize. Despite what the back sleeve says, this was in all likelyhood never released on CD, at least in the 80's.

Side A:
1. XECUTIONER - Find The Arise
Pre-OBITUARY. Extremely brutal for its time. Celtic Frost-riffing melded with Dark Angel-aggression. Soundwise a bit thrashier than their later albums (and all the better for it imo). Later featured as bonus on several "Slowly We Rot" CD reissues.
2. LETHAL PRESENCE - Strangeled Death
Competent Slayer-fanboys occationally flirting with Metallica.
3. BETRAYEL - D.D.P.
Funny oompah-beat in this primitive Thrasher, which in turn gets your foot tapping.
4. R.A.V.A.G.E. - Brain Damage
Pre-ATHEIST. Epic/technical Deathrash that broke a whole bloody lot of new ground at the time. Absolutely fantastic riffing. Featured as bonus on the 2005 CD reissue of "Piece Of Time".
5. SADUS - Kill Team
Best Song Ever from these Ultraspeed-pioneers. The band at their fastest and most insane. Later featured on the "DTP Demo 1986" CD from 2003.

Side B:
1. BETRAYEL - Another Sacrifice
More oompah-Thrash with barking vox bordering on crossover.
2. XECUTIONER - Like The Dead
Definitely more classic DM than merely "brutal thrash", thanx to that heavy C Frost-influence. Tardy's vocals aren't quite as unintelligible as on their upcoming LPs. Later featured as bonus on Obituary's "Slowly We Rot" CD reissues.
3. SADUS - Twisted Face
Screeeaming Thrash-mania in one helluva hurry! Later featured on the "DTP Demo 1986" CD from 2003.
4. LETHAL PRESENCE - Unholy Alliance
Makes me wonder if there's an E-X-E connection to this band? Fast, pounding Thrash, a bit more brutal than their previous offering.
5. R.A.V.A.G.E. - On They Slay
Wild, aggressive & tight-as-fuck Thrash beating 95% of the contemporary scene into a bloody pulp. Featured as bonus on the 2005 CD reissue of "Piece Of Time" (as ATHEIST).
