The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years Original Motion Picture Soundtrack LP 1988
Label: Capitol #: C1-90205 Country: USA
Info: Much like Penelope Spheeris' documentary, this soundtrack represents an illogical mix of styles, regions, and time periods, but still manages to provide an overall enjoyable experience. Quotes from the film (by Gene Simmons, Alice Cooper, Rikki Rockett, and Steven Tyler) are included at the beginning and end of each side. Also on CD and cassette.

CONTENT
(bold = exclusive track / normal = non-exclusive track / italic = non-metal)

Side A:
1. ALICE COOPER/W. AXL ROSE, SLASH AND IZZY - Under My Wheels
A classic ALICE COOPER song updated for the 80s, albeit rather unnecessarily, with 3/5 of the GUNS N' ROSES lineup.
2. FASTER PUSSYCAT - The Bathroom Wall
Exclusive live version from October 13, 1987 at The Cathouse in Hollywood.
3. MOTORHEAD - Cradle To The Grave
B-side on both the "Eat The Rich" and "Rock 'N' Roll" singles from 1987.
4. ARMORED SAINT - You Can Run But You Can't Hide
ARMORED SAINT peddling their commercially bent thrash. Rereleased in 2001 on their Nod To The Old School compilation.
5. LIZZY BORDEN - Born To Be Wild
STEPPENWOLF covered competently by LIZZY BORDEN at a live show, but did we really need another? Was also released on a 12" single, but as it was a promo single given to radio stations to promote this compilation I think it still counts as exclusive.

Side B:
1. MEGADETH - In My Darkest Hour
  Best breakup song ever.
2. QUEENSRYCHE - The Prophecy
Classic early 'RYCHE song which was written during The Warning sessions but not recorded until later. Released as a bonus track on the 1988 reissue of their self-titled EP.
3. METAL CHURCH - The Brave
Superb David Wayne era track that originally appeared on Metal Massacre V.
4. RIGOR MORTIS - Foaming At The Mouth
Sounding like MELIAH RAGE on speed, this was included as a bonus track on CD reissues of their debut.
5. SEDUCE - Colleen
Outtake from the recording sessions for the second LP from these Detroit metal-rockers.
